With Much Thanks to Martin Steele, who shares the history of this station.
"FloridaPast . We leased from Dixie Oil and Gas in Leesburg, as did Wright before us. A brief listing of property transfers on the Property Appraiser's website shows Dixie with ownership at least by 1969. Other events, including construction of a new station there in the mid 60's is likely indicative that Smith was out before 1965. Mike did own and operate the station in the 60's and likely very early 60's. I was there as a business partner with my father by April of 1972." - follow this LINK to the Facebook thread in Sumter County, FloridaPast |

Old library building, attached to the old Sumter County Bank,
being re-faced with stucco by an Inmate.
Fade Over Snip
The current owner of the Old Sumter County Bank, who lives within,
had Google blur-out so nobody can view on the map
Sometimes we run into situations like this.
Seems to me, by blurring out, it now makes you stand out,
which will awaken people's curiosity.

A panel truck body, that was once the local ice delivery truck.
The ice house, located on SR 471, just north of Beville's Corner.
Currently being used as a Church.
The panel truck has been long gone from this field.
The local Farmer used it to store hay for his cows.
When scrap metal demanded premium prices, it was scrapped
